This binary distribution may include several third party libraries which are
used by Splunk Stream Forwarder.  A list of these libraries along with license

This distribution includes the following files:

default/           	Directory containing default configuration files
local/             	Directory containing local configuration files
data/              	Directory for data files generated by the server

bin/		   	Directory containing Splunk Stream Forwarder executable
bin/streamfwd(.exe)	The Splunk Stream Forwarder executable

To start the server on Linux platforms, just run "streamfwd" from a command
shell. You can also run the server as a background daemon by adding a "-D"
parameter: "./streamfwd -D".

If you installed Stream Forwarder via the downloadable install script, 
it is set up to run as a service and the following commands can be
used to start, stop, get status and restart the service.
"service start|stop|status|restart streamfwd"

Once streamfwd is running, open your favorite web browser (Chrome, Firefox,
IE or Safari) and open up the following URL:

http://localhost:8889
